BUILT-IN DUAL FREQUENCY, MULTI-SMARTCARD READER
Featuring dual-frequency RFID card technology, the fingerprint readers from Tensor feature both LF(125kHz) and HF(13.56MHz) RFID including all RFID card standards that HID multiCLASS readers support. On top of fingerprint credential, they also support most types of RFID card standards with a single device including MIFARE, HID iCLASS, DESFire, FeliCa, HID Prox, EM and NFC.
BIOMETRIC READERS – FINGERPRINTS AS CREDENTIALS
The Tensor T34xx Readers compare a physical feature of the user against a stored template. The template is not a copy of the original fingerprint, but is instead created using an advanced mathematical algorithm from an enhanced picture of grid lines taken with a fingerprint scanner. The template measures/records a number of feature points – including ridge endings, bifurcations, position and direction – called minutiae.
If the comparison is successful, an ID number associated with that template upon enrolment is then processed by the Tensor access control software (WinAC.NET). Access levels are all then applied in the same way as any other identifying credential (ex. Smart cards).
